About the Firm
We are a rapidly growing regional Creditors’ Rights law firm seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to oversee legal matters from case inception through post-judgment remedies. Our firm is driven by the core values of High-Quality Work, Effective Communication, and Ownership, and we are committed to treating all clients, courts, and opposing parties with fairness and respect.
This role is primarily remote and based in Fairfax County, Northern Virginia, with occasional in-person requirements for court appearances and on-site meetings.
The Associate Attorney will manage a high-volume caseload, provide legal analysis and guidance, represent clients in court, and negotiate resolutions while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong ownership of their work and outcomes.
- Manage legal matters from inception through post-judgment remedies
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents
- Analyse legal and regulatory risks and provide clear, practical recommendations
- Handle a high-volume caseload efficiently and accurately
- Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve timely and effective case resolutions
- Appear in courts throughout the state of Virginia as required
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Managing Attorney to report on case activity, progress, and results
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Virginia (required)
- 0–3 years of experience in bankruptcy, collections, civil litigation, or related practice areas
- Court appearance experience and familiarity with applicable regulations preferred
- UBE passage or licensure in additional states (GA, SC, TN, FL, MD, MI, OH) is a plus but not required
- Strong ability to analyse case law and provide sound legal recommendations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
- Strong negotiation and analytical abilities
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
- Early-career or newly licensed attorney seeking long-term growth
- Takes ownership of work and outcomes
- Communicates clearly, professionally, and effectively
