Job Title: Windchill Technical Consultant
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)

Position Type: Full-time, Direct W2
Salary Range: $130,000–$180,000 Annually
Experience Required: 10+ Years

Job Summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Windchill Technical Consultant with 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions using the PTC Windchill platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Windchill Java API, Info*Engine, workflow customization, lifecycle management, system integrations, and enterprise PLM architecture. This role requires a hands-on technical leader capable of delivering scalable, high-performance PLM solutions while mentoring development teams and driving best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced PTC Windchill customizations using Windchill Java API and industry best practices.
  • Architect and configure complex workflows, lifecycle templates, Object Initialization Rules (OIRs), access control policies, and Info*Engine tasks.
  • Develop custom services, event listeners, web services, REST APIs, and enterprise integrations with ERP, MES, CRM, and other enterprise systems.
  • Customize Windchill user interfaces using JSP, HTML, JavaScript, and related web technologies.
  • Design and implement data migration strategies, bulk data loading processes, and system upgrade plans.
  • Optimize Windchill performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure high availability and system reliability.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and data extraction solutions to support business and engineering requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, product management, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable PLM solutions.
  • Lead technical design reviews, establish development standards, and ensure adherence to PTC best practices.
  • Mentor junior developers, provide technical leadership, maintain solution documentation, and support enterprise-wide Windchill initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of professional experience developing and supporting PTC Windchill PLM solutions.
  • Expert-level experience with Windchill Java API, Info*Engine, workflows, lifecycle templates, Object Initialization Rules (OIRs), and access control configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of Java, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, and the Windchill data model.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing Windchill customizations, integrations, and enterprise extensions.
  • Proven experience supporting Windchill upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Experience integrating Windchill with enterprise applications using REST APIs, SOAP web services, JMS, or middleware technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Engineering Change Management (ECM), CAD data management, and product configuration processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PTC Windchill Certified Professional or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Creo, Arbortext, ThingWorx, Windchill RV&S (Integrity), Codebeamer, or Navigate.
  • Familiarity with CAD integrations, engineering BOM (EBOM), manufacturing BOM (MBOM), and digital thread initiatives.
  • Experience with cloud deployment, containerization, or AWS/Azure infrastructure supporting PLM environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience supporting regulated industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Manufacturing, or Defense.
